Revised plans to replace former care home with apartments

Revised plans to replace a former care home with a block of apartments have been submitted to Cheshire East Council.

Sumo Developments, who own the 0.2 Ha site, are seeking planning permission for the proposed retention and partial demolition of Hillside, 21 Adlington Road to 10 residential apartments.

The proposal is to retain the original house and rear extension and to demolish and reconstruct the east extension to introduce a basement. There will also be a two storey extension across the front of the property and a smaller single storey extension to the west side and rear.

The property will then be spit into two sections. The front section will incorporate seven duplex apartments, four on the ground floor and basement and three at first and second floor level, (which will be within the roof space). The rear section of the building will provide two duplex and one single storey apartment.

The scheme includes 20 car parking spaces which will be situated at the front of the site and secure storage for 12 cycles.

Planning permission was granted on appeal (reference 19/4862M) in September 2020 for a 3-storey new building containing 11 apartments and providing 21 car parking spaces.

The revised plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 22/0922M.
