A training exercise for Wilmslow firefighters took place over the weekend which involved crews having to rescue a number of actors who were playing the part of casualties.
A mock multiple pile up was staged at Mansfield Vehicle Dismantlers in Macclesfield involving an articulated lorry, three cars and a van.
Crews from Knutsford, Bollington, Macclesfield and Wilmslow got the opportunity to test their skills as they set free the four trapped actors using cutting equipment.
Peter Walsh, Resilience Unit Manager said: "We are committed to the ongoing development and training of our crews, this type of exercise is vital to their continuing development as it presents firefighters with a realistic scenario that enables them to test their ability and skills to ensure that they remain at the level of excellene our service requires.
"I would like to thank Mansfield Vehicle Dismantlers for allowing us to use their yard and vehicles. Without their support we would not have been able to provide such a realistic scenario for the crews.”
