Wilmslow Cleanteam, who help keep the town tidy by organising regular litter picking events, returned to normal operations last month.

The group of volunteers carried out two community litter-picks on the mornings of Wednesday 7th July and Saturday 10th July.

On Wednesday 7th July, six volunteers focused on the area around Lindow Common then on Saturday 10th July, eight volunteers targeted areas around the Kings Arms Roundabout and Knutsford Road.

Chris Evans, chair of the Cleanteam, said; "Until recently and over the last four years we have been self financing, mostly relying on supermarket token schemes for monies but this has now dried up. We have recently been awarded a grant from Wilmslow Town Council which will enable us to continue our work well into 2023."

Their next 'Community litter-picks" will be on Wednesday 4th August and Saturday 7th August.

The Cleanteam are always on the lookout for new volunteers. All equipment and personal protective equipment is provided but they do ask new members to complete a safety questionnaire and wear appropriate clothing and foot wear for the weather conditions.
