Local running club race to the North Pole

Styal RC

Local runners will be donning their trainers to take part in a virtual run to the North Pole to raise money for a local children's charity.

Commencing on November 28th, members of Styal Running Club are attempting to run, 2600 miles, virtually, from Manchester to the North Pole to celebrate Christmas.

Over the course of the 12 consecutive days, approximately 40 members will be taking part in the challenge with each of them needing to average at least 5 miles every day, running in a Covid compliant manner.

Tony Collier explained "We are raising funds for The Childrens Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), with whom the club has had a long association, to help support the amazing work that they do to help give disadvantaged and underprivileged Children a better life."

The Adventure Farm is a haven for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from across the Northwest providing week-long holidays and fun day trips for children in desperate need, to create memories that last a lifetime.
