Handforth pays tribute to the fallen

A scaled-back event took place at Handforth War Memorial this morning (Sunday, 8th November) to honour the fallen.

Wreaths and flowers were laid on behalf of, amongst others, the Royal British Legion, the borough and parish councils, the local MP, rotary and the scouting movement.

In a socially distanced and low-key event, Rev. Burmister of St Chad's Parish Church led prayers and oversaw a two-minute silence in memory of those lost or injured in conflicts around the world.

It may have been visibly low key but emotionally it was a powerful Rememberance occasion.
We WILL remember them.
