Firefighters were called to a park in Howty Close just after 9pm on Saturday, 7th November, following a report of a fire.

On arrival the crew discovered that the fire involved a small quantity of paper and playground matting.

Firefighters extinguished the fire with water and were in attendance for around 10 minutes.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said "We've just extinguished a fire on Howty Close. These kinds of incidents drain resources which could be needed elsewhere at more serious incidents. Please consider this when lighting any fires outside."

Two hours earlier firefighters received a report of a fire at a car park in Styal.

On arrival at 7pm, the crew found a section of plastic fencing alight.

Firefighters extinguished the fire with water and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.

The fire is also believed to have been started deliberately.

Additionally, shortly after 6pm on Saturday, 7th November, firefighters were notified of an outside fire in the Colshaw Drive area of Wilmslow.

On arrival the crew discovered that it was a small unsupervised bonfire.

Firefighters used water to put out the fire and were in attendance for more than 15 minutes.

Anyone with any information about these fires should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101 or give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report.

These arson attacks have been going on for months now - there must be something more we can do before someone actually gets hurt by them?
