Pupils from Form 6 at Pownall Hall School in Wilmslow have said, "The show must go on" as their buddy reading scheme has been uninterrupted thanks to the wonderful world of technology.

Every Wednesday afternoon, just as they would in school, fabulous Form 6 pupils have been reading stories to the children in the lower end of the school via video calls.

All the children have thoroughly enjoyed these very special and memorable moments. Coordinated by teachers and fulfilled by parents and pupils, this has been a great team effort!

A Form 1 parent said, "Phoebe loved the buddy reading, thank you Pownall for organising!."

Freddie from Form 1 was delighted when his buddy reader James treated him to not one story but two stories, his Mummy said, "Freddie has had a lovely time this afternoon being read to by our Head Boy James. He felt very grown up talking to the older children and James made him feel extra special by reading him a second story, thank you so much!."

Deputy Head and Form 6 form teacher, Louise Edwards said "This is such a lovely scheme, we have run it at school for a few years now and it works really well. The younger children just love being read to by the older ones and the big boys and girls get a real buzz out of the responsibility of doing something for the little ones."

Louise went on to say, "I am just so delighted that we have been able to carry this activity on, despite us all being apart. It has been so wonderful to see the smiles on the children's faces."

We are Pownall. Everything is Possible.
