A new eco-friendly shop, café and takeaway has opened in Wilmslow town centre this week.
Potato & Cake opened its doors on Monday, 16h September, in the premises previously occupied by FootAsylum.
Speaking about his new venture, owner Simon King said "It is an original concept as a takeaway diner using totally compostable containers in all areas of both the Potato and the Cake areas along with totally eco-friendly products where able - including the heating system, the kitchens etc."
Having had the opportunity to purchase the building, Simon said he chose Grove Street because "I believe it to be the pedestrianised thoroughfare for this experience."
Potato & Cake will be open from 8am for breakfast, then serve the "original concept menu" from 11am through to late afternoon or early evening.

I’m not sure where you have seen the reviews that are as you say not “not very encouraging” The many reviews that I have seen since last Monday have all Bar a couple been delightful, and the Team at Potato & Cake so appreciate every one of them and say thanks lots to all the positive people that have taken the time to post them
Thanks though John and you’re so welcome to experience the new Takeaway Diner for yourself when I’m sure you will be convinced
We visited yesterday and the food was splendid.
I hope Wilmslow residents support this and other shops in the centre to ensure we don’t become a ghost town.
