Revival of ancient tradition raises thousands for hospice

A local group of fundraisers revived an ancient tradition for the second year to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice, whilst also enabling people to learn more about the town.

Organised by the Wilmslow Support Group of East Cheshire Hospice, 131 people took part in a Beating the Bounds sponsored walk around the boundaries of the parish on Sunday, 13th May, raising nearly £8000.

Ned Spencer said "We started Beating the Bounds in 2017 – about 60 people took part and we raised £5,000 for ECH. This year we have doubled the number of people taking part and our fund raising for East Cheshire Hospice has increased to £8,000."
