Handforth Parish Council is pleased to announce, that after extensive testing of the recently purchased CCTV, they now have a fully operational system.

The Parish Council has purchased six cameras, which are now operating at three locations, at a cost of £4700. Additionally they have budgeted approximately £1,500 per year for the maintenance of the cameras, however is not expected to come to this amount.

A spokesperson for Handforth Parish Council. said "After the removal of the Cheshire East Cameras, Handforth Parish Council explored the option of installing their own system in conjunction with a local private firm.

"The system has been installed with the approval of both CEC and the Police. The system will serve as a deterrent to crime, to assist in the detection and prevention of crime, and to improve community safety."

Town Clerk, Ashley Comiskey Dawson explained "This is not a 24 hour monitored system, however footage is being constantly securely recorded. Should there be an incident that requires the police to access the system, the police will liaise directly with the Parish Council."

Should it be required, there is room to expand the CCTV system.
