Transition Wilmslow are planning another Lindow Moss Dawn Walk on Saturday 30th July, offering people the opportunity to absorb the extraordinary atmosphere of the Moss as dawn breaks and imagine the lives of our ancestors.

Walkers can also hear about the people who have lived and died on the Moss, the flora and fauna that still displays remnants of its distant past as you walk into parts of the Moss which you may never have visited before.

Everyone is welcome and walkers are advised to bring stout shoes or boots, waterproofs and warm clothes. Additionally bring something to eat and drink.

Children are welcome, but remember the walk is for more than two hours on the Moss, and dogs too, if well behaved and on a lead.

Unfortunately this walk is not accessible for wheelchairs or buggies as it is very wet underfoot.

The event will finish with breakfast at the Friends Meeting House on Bourne Street where hot drinks and rolls will be served.

Speaking about the previous Dawn Walk, Pippa Jones said "It was an incredible day and one we will be talking about for ever: join us this time and share the memories!"

Meet at Lindow Common Car Park opposite Boddington Arms at 4.30am. To register for this free event and for more details, go to Eventbrite.

It is to be hoped that the people joining in on the walk will be informed of the complete devastation of the moss by the peat extraction company and the subsequent decimation of the water vole population and various plant species.
