A local running club celebrated their 10th anniversary by holding a charity dinner to raise money for The Childrens Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).

Members of Styal Running Club were dressed to impress as they came together at Altrincham Football Club for their dinner dance which raised just over £1000 through raffles and fun games for the Cheshire-based charity which provides holidays for disabled, terminally ill and disadvantaged children.

Club Chairman Chas Lowthian said "We adopted CAFT several years ago and have had a number of fund raising events for them raising several thousand pounds. We wanted to help a local charity that was big enough to provide support for events and where our contributions could make a difference.

"When we visited the farm and heard about the amazing things they do for under privileged and disadvantaged children we knew that they were the perfect choice for us. Celebrating our anniversary and at the same time raising £1097 for CAFT says a lot about the ethos of our small friendly running club."

Rob Bashforth, Communities Events Fundraiser at CAFT said "A massive thank you to Tony Collier and everyone at Styal Running Club for raising £1097 at the 10th anniversary ball.

"It was a great night and the money raised will go to help disadvantaged children in the northwest who come to visit us at the Children's Adventure Farm."
