Having achieved unprecedented success at the North West finals in December, 32 students from Wilmslow High School took part in the North Zonal Finals of the national Trampolining competition in Gateshead on Saturday. Once again, there were some outstanding performances across all age groups in both the team and individual categories.
There were wins for both the Under 14 Girls and Boys Novice teams, the Under 19 Boys Novice and Under 19 Boys Elite teams. The Under 19 Girls Novice A and the Under 14 Boys Intermediate teams were unlucky not to make it through to the National finals, finishing in 3rd place in their respective competitions. The Under 19 Girls Novice b team finished the day in 4th position while the Under 14 Girls Intermediate team finished in 5th.
Under 14 Girls Novice Team: Molly Andrews, Shauna Greaves, Georgia Long and Gracie Davies.
Under 14 Boys Novice: Finlay Greenwood, Ben Dickinson, Joe Renshaw, Oliver Pipping.
Under 14 Girls Intermediate: Esme Plant, Amy Worsley, Maisie Calder, Kaie Phythian, Bella Southerton.
Under 14 Boys Intermediate: George Holt, Ethan Ford, Sam Falk, Oliver Weir.
Under 19 Girls Novice A: Alice Du Fresne, Elise Bale, Jacinta Kynaston, Katie Mayoh.
Under 19 Girls Novice B: Izzy Hargreaves, Juliette Hill, Izzy Boxer, Kate Russell.
Under 19 Boys Novice: Max Southerton, Will Cusworth, James Jones, Nathan Sach.
Under 19 Boys Elite: Brendan Smith, Matt Graham, Conor Smith, Jack Colledge.
As well as achieving team success, 5 students will also compete in the individual competitions at the national finals. Brendan Smith (U19 Elite Boys) and Gracie Davies (U14 Novice Girls) both came in first position and are now Northern Champions in their categories. Georgia Long (U14 Novice Girls) finished in second place while Finlay Greenwood (U14 Novice Boys) and Elise Bale (Under 19 Novice Girls) also booked their place in the National finals by finishing in 3rd.
Head coach Hilary Pemberton was extremely proud of every student's performance and is now looking forward to preparing her teams for the National Finals to be held at Wigan's Robin Park Sports Centre on the 19th March.
