The Council is hoping to move a group of travellers on this week after they set up an illegal encampment on the Council owned sports fields off Altrincham Road.
Nine caravans pitched up on the Jim Evison Playing Fields on Sunday, 13th September, having moved on from the car park at Handforth Dean retail park.
Councillor Ellie Brooks, Wilmslow West and Chorley Ward, visited the site today, Monday 14th September, having received a number of complaints from nearby residents.
Councillor Ellie Brooks said "The fence post had clearly been sawn through although there was another access point where a tree had been recently felled.
"Cheshire East have applied this morning for a court order which will be served this week, possibly Thursday. I spoke to one of the travellers regarding keeping the site clean as its used by young people and the Cheshire East officer issued bags."
A Council spokesman said "Members of the Council's 'travellers liaison team' are in contact with the families and a legal process has begun to enable the Council to recover the land.
"The Council understands this may be the same group which, until recently, occupied privately-owned land at Handforth Dean, over which the Council had no jurisdiction."
