This weekend saw the men's first team play Macclesfield in the Cheshire plate final, Wilmslow yet again stormed to victory, by winning an impressive 6-4. This kicked the season off in style, with a view of great things to come for the up and coming season.
The ladies first team had a friendly against Ulverston, they started the match very positively pressing from the first whistle, they dominated the whole game with skill and speed. Their first reward came when Becca Healey slotted the ball home from the penalty spot, however Ulverston reacted quickly and scored imminently.
This didn't deter the ladies who continued to press with many shots on goal, but they were unfortunate not to convert any attempts. The ladies had two balls stopped on the line to prevent them from any reward, but once again Becca Healey sped down the pitch, she manoeuvred past all the defenders to have a shot on goal, which perfectly hit the top corner of the net. The girls played well for the remained of the match however in the last 30 seconds Ulverston broke away and managed to convert a goal much to Wilmslow's dismay.
The ladies second and third team faced Timperley in their first league matches of the season. The ladies second team lost 3-2 despite Jenna Mapes scoring a brace, however the third team drew three all with a goals from Sam Van Dellem and two goals from Penny Sparrow. The under 15 boys were unlucky to lose 6-5 to Brooklands under 15's despite goals from Cameron Armstrong, Matt Bream, Marten Hall and two goals from Ben Jones.
