Year 11 Wilmslow High School student, Emily Maslen, is one step closer to achieving her dream of playing senior football for Manchester City Women in the FA Women's Super League.

She is now in her fourth season at Manchester City having beaten off the challenge of a large number of girls in trials earlier this summer to retain her place in the squad.

Emily now plays for the club's under 17 team, and was recently selected to play for the Women's Senior Development team, the reserve team for the Women's senior first eleven.

As well as playing for Wilmslow High School, she trains 3 times a week and has also been selected as part of the Cheshire Schools U16 squad. Her commitment to the sport doesn't end there though as she gives up her time to coach football to youngsters on a Saturday morning.
