
Two people have been sentenced after stealing over £3000 worth of jewellery from a shop in Wilmslow town centre this week.
Police received a call reporting a robbery at Mark Worthington Jewellers on Water Lane at 12.33pm on Monday, 17th August, where two people had been detained.
Following an investigation by officers from Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, a man and woman were arrested and charged with stealing a gold ring and gold and diamond charms worth more than £3,000. They have been sentenced to 6 months in prison following the offence.
A police spokesperson said "Florin Anghel, aged 38, from Milne Street in Oldham and Ciobana Muntean, aged 21 from Beverley Street in Manchester appeared at Crewe Magistrates court on 19 August and pleaded guilty to the offence of theft from a shop."
