
Two people were arrested this afternoon for a distraction theft at a Wilmslow jewellers.
Police were called to Mark Worthington Jewellers on Water Lane at 12.33pm today (Monday, 17th August) where two people, one man and one women had been detained.
Upon arrival police arrested the detained people for a distraction theft and they were taken to Middlewich Custody Suite.
Police are currently making enquires in the local area as to the movements of these two people prior to them entering the jewellers.
A police spokesperson said "They are described as Romanian in appearance. The male is described as early 40's, black hair, moustache and goaty beard, wearing a white shirt, navy blue pin stripped pants.
"The female is described as being in her early 20's, 5'5" tall, slim build with black very long hair tied up in a ponytail. She had a gold cap on one of her front top teeth. She was wearing a knee length black dress, black cardigan, black flat shoes and was carrying a black leather handbag."
