A new netball league is launching in Wilmslow in October, which will be based at Wilmslow Leisure Centre.

Play Simple Netball is a social netball league for groups of friends, work mates or individuals who want to play recreational netball to get fit, have fun and meet new people.

Jo Wilks, a qualified umpire and Level 2 netball coach, runs leagues across south and central Manchester. She decided to set up a local league having received quite a few enquiries from people living in Cheshire.

Jo explained "We aim to provide a friendly and fun environment in which to play a social but competitive game of netball.

"The league will be open to teams of friends or work colleagues and also individual players who will be placed in a team with other like-minded players.

"Beginners will also be welcome as this will be a social league - at least initially until the competitive edge kicks in!"

Taster sessions will be held at Wilmslow Leisure Centre on Thursdays from 8.15pm to 9.15pm from 3rd September until 15th October, costing £4 each. The league will then run on Sunday evenings and initially they expect to have 6 to 8 teams.
