Graham McLelland has sent us this photo of the Wilmslow St Bartholomew's Brass Band which was taken around 1961-2 in their brand new uniforms
Graham was in band and can identify some but not all of the other members.
He told me "I do remember some of the names. The conductor sitting holding the baton was Reg Jenkins, moving to right of the picture the last three men were Len Cooper, Harold Hewitt and Len Phillips.
"In the second row after three trombone players are Reg Jones, tenor horn Mike Jenkins, tenor horn nephew of Reg and beside him his father the brother of Reg. On the back row I am the 4th one in on flugel horn but sorry I cannot remember any more names.
"Apart from Len Phillips, Mike Jenkins and myself from Alderley Edge, all the others were Wilmslow men.
"We rehearsed at Chancel Lane school, where the new Church Hall is now, and did the rose queens of Wilmslow, Alderley, Peover and Morley. We also had old time dances in Wilmslow Parish Hall on Water Lane."
