New Parsonage Green restaurant given green light

laundrette

A restaurant which is preparing to open in Wilmslow town centre has been granted planning permission for an external seating area.

The people behind the Laundrette, which opened in Chorlton in August 2014, are opening a second branch at 52, Parsonage Green and have been given planning permission for an external deck at the front of the property. The works also include adding timber cladding to the facade, a fixed weather awning and three fascia signs.

The Laundrette will be located in the premises previously occupied by Bar Sport, which has been empty since it was repossessed on behalf of the landlord in May 2014.

The restaurant will serve pizza and cocktails. The proposed opening hours are 8am to 2am Monday to Saturday and 8am to 11pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The Laundrette is expected to create ten full-time and eight part-time jobs.

The planning application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 15/0106M.

Pizza and cocktails: How unimaginative can you get!

I will give it six months, 12 tops if the Chorlton one is anything to go by.

Oh dear. Should we open a book on its length of survival?!

I'm all for it. Can't look worse than it does at the moment and it should be a good alternative to the usual bars. Just hope they don't use the same builders as the Swadesh!

The owners should consider a name change, otherwise patrons may expect a laundry 'service wash' whilst consuming their pizza & cocktails.
Hardly a recognised brand name for such an establishment.
Is the name even avail for trademark registration?

Absolutely brilliant, will be great for Wilmslow!! I'm my view and having spoken to quote a few other residents, Wilmslow just needed a few bars / restaurants to kick start it's 'funky' vibe, and it looks like we're pretty much there!! Good luck Laundrette, I'll certainly be venturing in for a cocktail or three!

I blogged about this plan before. Dreamers!! Pizza is just about the cheapest meal one can produce. Cocktails!!! Have this firm done any demographic research or do they seriously expect the revellers of Alderley Edge (locals and tourists alike) to venture into darkest Wilmslow of an evening. This venture is akin to boat owning - standing in a cold shower ripping up £50 notes.

What a positive bunch!!!
It is obviously a venture that will suit the residents that appreciate a variety of bars and eating venues and would welcome a more trendy vibe in the area

Sadly Pizza & Cocktails are not a very inspiring combination, and taken together with the lacklustre name this will probably mean a short spin in Wilmslow for this restaurant!

Are people not able to voice their own opinions rather than just regurgitating previous comments.
"Pizza and cocktails " There are only 5 pizzas on the menu. And who doesn't like cocktails?????

Well said Emma. Someone should tell the very popular Pizza Express what a terrible idea having a pizza restaurant in Wilmslow is, as they appear not to have noticed how badly they are supposed to be doing.

Some people seem also seem terminally unable to accept they aren't the target demographic of every business in the town.
