Café Aroma, at St Chad's Church in Handforth celebrated its first anniversary with a visit from the Mayor.
The not-for-profit initiative, which aims to further engagement with the local community, is run by a management team of four people, church volunteers and clients from local charity Pure Innovations, which supports people with disabilities and disadvantaged groups to get into work.
The Mayor of Cheshire East Council, Councillor Wesley Fitzgerald and Mayoress, Mrs Joan Fitzgerald joined in the celebrations with the volunteers who run the café.
Café manager, Greg Aspinall, said: "When the café first opened we found that most customers were from St Chad's Church, but now we welcome a range of customers including office workers, young families and groups such as the Seashell Trust.
"The café is proving to be a great way to bring together the local community and this has only been possible through our dedicated team of volunteers. I'd like to thank everyone involved in Café Aroma for their time, ideas and input, which make the café the success it is today."
He added: "Café Aroma is open weekdays 10.30 til 1.30 and everyone is welcome. During the winter months we find that our home-made soup and sandwiches are really popular, as well as our speciality teas and coffees."
