A tree was blown over on Manchester Road damaging cars parked at a nearby house as severe winds hit the region yesterday.
Emergency services and Cheshire East Council received in excess of 70 reports of fallen trees or branches across the Borough on Thursday, 5th December, some of which were located on the principal road network.
A spokesperson for Cheshire East said "Teams worked hard throughout yesterday afternoon in poor conditions to try and ensure as many routes as possible were open for the evening commute.
"As night fell, efforts were focused on the principal road network and those of a more urgent nature.
"Minor roads were closed and work has recommenced this morning to re-open them. It is likely that the cleanup operation will continue over the weekend. The incident was further compounded by falling temperatures last night that meant that our crews were also out salting the borough's network in the early morning hours."
