The profile of local band The Lost 37 took a big step forward last weekend when they headlined at an event for boxing champion Chris Eubank.
The band members Bryn Howells, Jordi Garner, Adam Shaw and Lewis Kennedy all attend Wilmslow High School and have only played a handful of gigs since forming in June.
Then, after being invited by UK band The Longsands to support them at show in Newcastle in August they were approached by Wraith Promotions to appear alongside former World Middleweight Champion Chris Eubank at his event in Gateshead where they performed to over 500 people.
Having performed mainly their own material, the 16-year-olds were flooded with requests for their new demo CD and sold out of merchandise within 15 minutes of leaving the stage.
Lead singer Bryn Howells commented "The reaction from the crowd was amazing and we were selling and signing CDs at a crazy rate! This has been a great confidence boost for us as we have proven we can perform at a big venue and hold our own. There is an amazing feeling surrounding our band at the moment and it seems to be rubbing off on anyone who sees us live, it is exciting but we have a long way to go and just want to keep performing and improving."
Eubank himself requested a copy of The Lost 37's latest offering and stated "I'm impressed to see such a young act performing at such a high standard. I suggest that people keep an eye out for them!"
Their weekend did not stop there, The Lost 37 were then invited to perform an off the cuff acoustic show before the Newcastle v Chelsea game in a bar near the stadium and then they were invited by The Jam's Bruce Foxton to watch his show at the 02 academy in Newcastle, which was the perfect way to end this mini promotional trip.
The Lost 37 will be performing closer to home at Castle Rock Studios in Alderley Edge on Tuesday 26th November to celebrate the launch of their new website. Tickets go on sale this week and will be in high demand, email [email protected] for more details.
