
Not since the 1980's has Wilmslow had an official entry into Miss England, but 2014 could change that.
The search is now on to find a new ambassador for the town, with lots of possibilities being opened up for the winner.
Whoever is crowned Miss Wilmslow 2014 by a panel of celebrity judges and former winners will gain entry into the Miss England semi-finals and possibly onto Miss World.
The competition has changed dramatically since it began in 1951 with more emphasis now being placed on the charity element 'beauty with a purpose', which raises money and participates in humanitarian projects across the world.
The Final of Miss Wilmslow, the Official Miss England qualifier, will take place on Sunday 30th March 2014 at the Hallmark Hotel.
So if you are aged 17 to 24, have lived or worked in Wilmslow and would like the chance to become an ambassador for the town then you can apply online now at www.missswilmslow.co.uk.
Entry into the competition is free and the winner could be in with the chance of having a crack at the Miss World title. The deadline to get your entry in is January, applicants must be female and aged 17 to 24 at the time of the contest.
