Having made well-received improvements to the appearance of the town centre with planters and hanging baskets, Wilmslow Town Council has agreed to spend up to £2000, to purchase and plant Spring bulbs around the town.

Speaking at the month's Town Council meeting, Ruth McNulty said "Spring bulbs makes such a difference particularly after what has been a long hard winter. This is all part of the landscaping project that we're undertaking to various parts of the town."

She added "We've identified a few areas, they are all on the gateway approaches to the town where we can either plants crocuses in the turf or daffodils under hedges."

Ruth went on to explain "As part of this landscaping project we are looking at the re-planting of three relatively small roundabouts, we thought we'd do small ones first before we do larger ones. The roundabout by the King William near the memorial gardens and the two roundabouts in Dean Row by The Unicorn - all of which are overgrown which propose to grub up and replant."

Cllr Ruth McNulty proposed that they spend up to £2000, from their existing budget, on bulbs and planting which was approved by the full Town Council.

I hate the round about near the King William, it is much to dangerous to cross.
The trees and foliage on it is built up to such an extend you can't actually see if anything is coming from the Manchester road behind it.
When it's busy and it's hard to keep track of cars, you can never know if there is anything coming round the other side of the roundabout until they are right on top of you.

On a similar note all these flowers are nice, but I have found on the crossing between the newly opened barbers and the office block near the Bollin fee the flowers on the railing create a dead zone in your vision where you can't see any traffic. When you look down the road all you can see is flowers, I often see people step out to cross only to jump back since the flowers were put there.

How about we spend the £2000 on a decent solicitor who will ensure these travellers are removed from our town once and for all?

How about all these bulbs and plants are used to make the travellers sites look less like public tips.

Again ,how about hiring someone to pick up rubbish the wilmslow high school children leave on parkway, broadway, holly road north and south instead.
It's a big school and some of the monies come out the high school budget , that would be great wouldn't it or not really!
I love the flower displays , but hate the rubbish left my high school children
everywhere.
Think again cllr Ruth please or at least do your job to keep our roads near the school tidy!
