Man exposes himself to teenage girl

Police are appealing for information after a man exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl in Wilmslow.

At 5.45pm on Friday*, 6th September, the teenager was walking along Cumber Lane with a friend when a man in a maroon van exposed himself to her as he drove slowly past.

The girl then ran off and reported it to her family who contacted police.

The man is described as aged 40, tanned with dark short hair. The van was old and battered looking.

PC Phil Macey said: "The teenager did exactly the right thing by alerting an adult. We made a search of the area, but no one fitting the description was located.

"We have not had any further reports of this nature but we have been monitoring the area. Anyone with information should contact police."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 787 of 6 September 2013. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

We've been alerted via school that an incident which almost matches this description happened on Friday evening "near Gravel Lane"...is it the same one or have there been two?

I've just checked with the police and there was an error in the information provided, which I didn't pick up on. The incident occurred on Friday 6th September. I have corrected the article above.
