Outline planning permission is being sought for a new housing development on land off Pigginshaw Lane.
The proposal is for the erection of seven detached dwellings with associated parking and landscape works.
The 0.54ha site is located at the end of a short cul-de-sac, situated off the A538 Altrincham Road. It was formerly used as a horticultural nursery, however it has been vacant for a number of years.
The outline application is for seven detached, two storey houses with 4 bedrooms each, some with integral and others with detached garages.
Access to the development will be via Pigginshaw Lane and it is intended that the private drive will be gated.
The land off Pigginshaw Lane has been identified by Cheshire East Council for residential use for up to 22 dwellings in the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment which was approved in February this year.
The planning application can be viewed of the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 13/1700M.
The deadline for submitting comments is 29th May and a decision is expected by 20th June.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
And register your objection to development in the greenbelt stating that this development is not in line with Policy GC1 of the current version of the Macclesfield Borough Local Plan.
Disregarding Residents of wilmslow
In my view this is a cynical attempt to profit from the perceived, politically driven relaxation in planning legislation, but actually laws around building on Green Belt haven't been changed. I'll be objecting.....
WTC is not the planning authority, however it will make a recommendation to Cheshire East. I also urge any resident who has a comment to also make it via the CEC website or by emailing
This is a prime example of a land owner trying to miss use government policy to feather their own nest to the detriment of WIlmslow town, its defined boundaries and the wildlife located on the site.
No thought has been given to the traffic on Altrincham Road and how such a scheme will effect what is already a very dangerous junction with the bordering tributary roads onto the main road.
The list is endless in arguments against the proposed development and I could continue at length why the only option is for the council to deny the application.
I urge everyone to make their voice heard and object to the proposed development on the greenfield site.
