A police car has been rammed by a vehicle displaying stolen number plates.
The police car was hit by a black VW golf at the Tesco petrol station at Handforth Dean at approximately 3pm today, Friday 22nd March.
The officer involved had stopped a car with no number plates and was informed by the owner that they had been stolen.
The officer then went to Tesco, due to the number of drive offs that have been happening there recently, and there was a car at one of the pumps displaying the stolen plates.
The officer tried to stop the vehicle but he was rammed in the process.
Police are currently following several lines of enquiry.
Please call them on 101 if you witnessed the incident.
