A voluntary group, which aims to encourage good design, is planning to issue an award for the best new or altered building in Wilmslow.

Wilmslow Trust are inviting residents to nominate what they consider the best new or altered building in the town which was completed during 2012.

Residents can nominate commercial or residential buildings which they feel are particularly well designed.

Entries will be judged by three members of the committee of Wilmslow Trust comprising Ray Acton, who is a local historian with an unrivalled knowledge of Wilmslow, Chris Fasciato who is a practising architect and Martin Hoyle who is a retired architect.

Christopher Dodson, Chairman of Wilmslow Trust, said "Although we had two nominations last year unfortunately neither was considered by the judges to be worthy of an award. We are hoping that it will be different this year."

The owner of the winning building will be presented with a certificate and a small plaque which it is hoped that they will put on the wall of the building.

Please send nominations to the Secretary of Wilmslow Trust, Martin Hoyle, at 2 Wilcott Drive Wilmslow or [email protected] before 28th February.
