A zebra crossing is being installed on Church Street next week.

The crossing will be located about 65 metres north of the junction with Swan Street, close to Waitrose.

It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between Monday, 29th October, and Friday 2nd November.

During the works Church Street will be closed from its junction with Swan Street to its junction with Mill Street.

The alternative route during the closure will be via Church Street, Mill Road, Manchester Road and Swan Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times as will vehicular access or emergency vehicles and residents.

Why did the highways dept not do this work this week while the kids were off?
As the road will be closed for 5 days? Impacting the school run & also affecting bussiness in bank square? Planning is key!
