A driver from Wilmslow was arrested yesterday following a three vehicle crash which killed a 61-year-old woman.
Emergency services were called to the collision in London Road, Adlington at 3.21pm on Thursday, 20th September.
The collision, near to the Legh Arms, involved a Mitsubishi Pick-Up, a Honda Jazz and a Citroen DS3.
Sadly, the driver of the Honda Jazz, a 61-year-old woman from Poynton, died at the scene.
A passenger in the Mitsubishi, a 21-year-old man from Wilmslow, was airlifted to hospital with shoulder and neck injuries and the driver of a Citroen DS3, a 31-year-old woman from Bollington, was taken to Macclesfield Hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 37-year-old man from Wilmslow was arrested. He has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.
London Road was closed between Poynton and the Legh Arms while emergency services worked at the scene. The road was fully reopened by 10.40pm.
