Popular wildlife TV presenter and cameraman Simon King OBE is to visit Handforth next month.
Mr King, the face of BBC 2's Springwatch live broadcasts for a number of years and host of the Big Cat Diary, joins Cheshire Wildlife Trust as part of their anniversary celebrations.
The Trust's 'Evening with Simon King' will include an audience address, 'Q&A' and book signing at the Hallmark Hotel on Friday 21st September.
With more than 25 years in front of and behind the camera, Simon King has become one of our most respected TV naturalists best known for his relaxed, whispering commentary, from as far afield as remote and windswept Scottish islands to the plains of Africa.
An accomplished and award-winning filmmaker and photographer, Simon has been behind some of the footage on a number of David Attenborough's 'Life' series produced by the BBC's acclaimed Natural History Unit.
In 2011, cameras followed Simon for a year as his family encountered the wildlife of the Shetland Islands including otters and killer whales.
Simon has now stepped away from the regular TV limelight, he continues to lead guided tours throughout the world and last year he became the Wildlife Trusts latest UK president.
Dr. Janel Fone, chief executive of Cheshire Wildlife Trust said: "We're thrilled that Simon will be joining us in what has been a hectic year for Wildlife Trusts throughout the UK, celebrating 100 years since the modern conservation movement began.
"As a popular and passionate all-round naturalist, Simon is perfectly placed to inspire us in Cheshire during our own bi-centenary celebrations, and we expect to have a packed room to enjoy all he has to share with us about his latest adventures and the challenges our wildlife faces today."
Tickets to see Simon King are priced at £15, plus booking fee, and are available through the Trust's website or by calling 01948 820728.
