Wilmslow CC 1st XI 42 for 2 beat Hartford CC 1st XI 41 all out

Wilmslow Cricket Club march on, with this very impressive demolition of Hartford Cricket Club from Northwich.

The Rectory Field based outfit , now sit 27 points clear of second placed Wilmslow Wayfarers in Division Two of The Cheshire Alliance.

Whilst alot of the damage had already been done, the highlight for Wilmslow was undoubtedly a hat trick from skipper Jay Patel who shot out the 7,10 and 11 in successive balls. Earlier Jags Narayaran (4 for 15) and Tom Rowe (3 for 20) had ripped the 'heart' out of the home team.

In response the visitors were cagey against an all spin attack. Paxton Glover hit 25 and Elliot Rowe nearly saw it through with 11, but the coup de grace came from Adam Dixon with 10 runs in two balls to win the game.

There were mixed results at the Rectory Field. On Saturday the seconds held out for a draw as Mossley went from 70 for 7 to 178 for 9. In reply Wilmslow faltered immediately, losing Tatlock run out for 0. With Les Hart holding up one end, the crowd was entertained by Rob Hart who hit a superb 46 before getting himself out.

The third XI top the table and on this result will need some catching. Club and league records are under scrutiny as Wilmslow put on 235 for the first wicket, and finished on 345 for 7. Salford Jewish were brilliant throughout and in particular two of their younger bowlers, who came back at the end and got 3 wickets apiece. Wilmslow had their own bright star however, Jake Woodhouse just 15 years old took 6 for 21 to win the game.
