Wilmslow Police are advising people to be vigilant following another spate of distraction thefts.
The latest theft took place on Saturday, 21st July, when an iPhone was stolen from an estate agents on Water Lane.
The incident occurred at 11.43am when a member of staff had been dealing with two men in their late teens who had enquired about a property. When they left, she realised her phone had been taken off her desk.
iPhones have also been stolen from the Honey Bee on Altrincham Road, Design Emporium on Water Lane, The Kitchen Shop in Handforth, Costa Coffee in Knutsford, Knutsford Services and Knutsford Wine Bar in the past two weeks.
All offenders have been described as being of Eastern European appearance.
The mobile phones are being stolen by distraction techniques. Offenders are usually entering the bars and shops with leaflets in their hand which they place on the table over the iPhone. They then engage the owner in conversation and pick the iPhone up with their leaflets before heading off.
Inspector Steve Griffiths said "Members of public should keep their phones out of view because they are making it too easy to steal. iPhones are worth around £400 so they will continue to be targetted. The phones can be replaced but contacts , sentimental pictures and videos stored on them can't be replaced."
