A teenager from Wilmslow has died following a fatal collision near Leek on Wednesday, 6th June.
Alexander Anderson, 17, of Torkington Road, sadly died at the scene of the accident which happened at around 2.45pm on the A523 Leek to Macclesfield road at Rudyard.
The collision, near the junction with Green Lane, involved a blue Mercedes HGV and a blue Volkswagen Golf.
The HGV driver was uninjured and the road remained closed for six hours while officers completed an investigation at the scene.
The Senior Investigating Officer, Sgt Jim Perry, said: "The A523 is the main road from Macclesfield, Cheshire, to Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands and Ashbourne in Derbyshire. It's likely that there were many people travelling along the route at that time of the day who may have seen something.
"We really need to speak to anyone who was passing by. I am very keen to hear from any witnesses that saw the collision or any of the vehicles involved immediately before the collision happened."
