Between the 8th and 10th of June a group of twelve parents will be attempting to cycle the coast to coast of Britain from Workington on the west coast through the Lake District and the North Yorkshire moors to Tynemouth on the east coast.
With a total of 140 miles in three days and around 15,000ft of climbing, to raise funds for St Anne’s Fulshaw Primary School.
The parents started training in January and have completed over 500 miles in training rides, including a loop from Wilmslow to the top of the Cat and Fiddle in howling wind and driving rain.
Many of the group had only ever ridden short distances before and the first 25 mile ride in January at below freezing temperatures was a real test, over the months of training they are all now comfortably completing rides of 50 miles +, which will stand them in good stead to ride the coast to coast.
