Win for Lacey Green Academy's steel band

Lacey Green Primary Academy senior steel band have triumphed in a borough wide music competition.

The pupils took part in the finals of the 3rd Annual Cheshire East Primary Schools Music Competition at the Royal Northern College of Music on Friday 24th February.

During the afternoon the children shared and celebrated the diverse and high quality of music making from young people in some of the Cheshire East's primary schools.

The senior steel band gained an impressive 46 out of 50 mark and feedback from the four adjudicators was outstanding.

Mrs. Dooley, Headteacher, proudly stated that "The band worked extremely hard together, played brilliantly and was a worthy winner! They were a credit to our school."

As part of the winning prize the band has been invited to perform alongside Fodens Brass Band at Alsager High School on Sunday 29th April and at The Olympic Torch Relay event at Tatton Park on May 31st.
