A Greek restaurant opened on Grove Street this week serving old family recipes with a modern twist.
Stolen Lamb, which means Kleftiko - the signature dish of Cyprus, is a family run business owned by Wilmslow residents Panicos Hadjiyiannis and George Hadjiyiannis.
Cooking has been a tradition in the Hadjiyiannis family for generations and George's grandfather, also called George, is known for cooking his own secret recipes, in both his home village of Kyrenia in Cyprus and more recently in Manchester. Both his grandfather and grandmother will be preparing a selection of traditional Greek village dishes using the same recipes in the kitchen at Stolen Lamb.
Head Chef George Hadjiyiannis, who previously worked at Burj Al Arab in Dubai, said "It has been my dream to own my own restaurant offering the old heritage style of greek cooking with a modern twist.
"The restaurant will embrace old family recipes combined with new style to offer the ultimate Greek dining experience. Our cooking methods include using a traditional wood-fired clay oven and a coal fired BBQ to give full flavour to the food."
Stolen Lamb is managed by Manu Bhatt who has been working in the hospitality industry for 15 years. He graduated in Hospitality Management in Australia and has worked around the globe, most recently with George at the Hilton Manchester.
Stolen Lamb is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturdays, closed Sundays, and bookings are currently being taken for Christmas.
