Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust are preparing to give free Love Local Life discount cards to all their tenants.
The cards will be sent to over 5,000 Trust tenants across Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Knutsford and surrounding areas. They will be distributed with the next edition of the Trust's customer magazine PlainSpeaking. All customers will need to do is activate their free card to begin taking advantage of the many offers available.
Love Local Life was set up in May 2009 by Amanda Fazelynia who saw the effect of the recession on her own business Fina Bar and Grill in Macclesfield and decided something needed to be done. She created the scheme which rewards local people with discounts or benefits when they shop or eat out in a local, independently owned business. The card now offers discounts or benefits at over 120 outlets in Cheshire and to date over 8000 people have a card.
Amanda Fazelynia says "I'm overjoyed that Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust have acted and now a further 5000 local people can feel the benefits of saving with a Love Local Life card. The Trust have recognised that 2011 should really be a time to support your local town and embrace the community spirit on offer rather than putting your money in the pockets of already thriving national companies."
