Police Question Time

Local residents are being offered the opportunity to join the debate and help to influence the delivery of local police services at a new Police Question Time event which kicks off next week at Wilmslow Library.

A panel will be answering questions posed by the public, covering issues such as the new government's proposals for the police and police authorities, police finance, performance, road policing, police visibility and the way in which complaints are investigated.

The facilitator of the Police Question Time event Police Authority Member, Terry Savage said "the purpose of the meeting is to provide you with an opportunity to ask questions on community safety and strategic policing issues. Questions have been sent in by the public on our website and on reply paid postcards which are available in public places. We have not 'cherry picked' the questions that we wish to answer. We think that the questions will promote a lively debate about the things that matter to you."

The panel will be made up of senior police officers, members of the Police Authority, Cheshire East Council and Probation Services. This means that people will be able to have their say and hold public service providers to account."

Terry Savage added "we will also be taking questions from the audience, so if you want to put your question to our panel, just turn up on the night."

Police Question Time will commence at 7pm on Wednesday July 7th at Wilmslow Library on South Drive. Submit your questions online or for further information please contact Anna Collins at Cheshire Police Authority on 01244 614102.
