The Green Room's centenary season continues this week with 'Bombshells' by Joanna Murray-Smith, six women deliver six funny and perceptive monologues about the
stresses of modern female life.
As the six women range in age from a feisty teenager to a 64-year-old widow yearning for the unexpected, there's a story for everyone to enjoy.
- Meryl is a mother who tells the story of her non-stop day in a rapid-fire internal monologue.
- Tiggy a cactus lover is bravely attempting to rise above her relationship crisis.
- Mary is a feisty teenage schoolgirl competing in a talent quest.
- Theresa is an increasingly disillusioned bride on her wedding day.
- Winsome a widow with an appetite for the unexpected.
- Zoe an American cabaret singer has had her fair share of personal problems
The evening is directed by Victor Hassan and Linda Batson. They said "The play is beautifully judged, presenting six women on the edge, with very varied and entertaining 'takes' on the challenges of female life", says Victor, "They struggle sometimes hilariously, sometimes tragically......and humour in the end is their saviour."
The play runs from 20 to 25 January with a matinee on 25th.
