The Green Room's centenary season continues with 'The Messiah' by Patrick Barlow' - a Christmas comedy loosely based on the story of the Nativity.

Director John Chidgey said "I was delighted to be asked to direct this play in this, the centenary year for the Green Room and coincidentally the 75th play I have produced here and elsewhere, having joined the Green Room 56 years ago as an actor in "I capture the Castle" in 1968. This play brings the Nativity story to life with three very talented actors playing a myriad of parts including Mary and Joseph, Herod, the Archangel Gabriel and the Three Wise Men. Christmas does indeed start here."

The play runs from Monday 2 to 7 December with a matinee on Saturday 7th December. Each evening performance starts at 7:45pm with the matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets, costing £10 for members and £12 full price, can be booked online, via the box office answerphone on 01625 540933 or at the Saturday morning Box Office which will open for personal callers between 11 am and 12 noon on 16, 23 and 30 November.

Please note that this production is not a pantomime and not the famous Oratorio by Handel. In The Green Room's opinion, the production is not suitable for children under 10 years of age.
