"Ladies Unleashed" by Amanda Whittington - continues the life stories of the four herring packers from Hull, whom we first met on their very enjoyable day out at York Races in "Ladies Day".
Now 20 years later Pearl, Jan and Linda are together again on Lindisfarne for a long- planned break, when a surprise visitor turns up. They haven't seen Shelley for years, and their retreat becomes a reunion. But a lot has changed since they were last together and, cut off from the mainland, tensions rise with the tide. As the sky darkens, the island grows restless with echoes of the past. Will the four still be friends when dawn breaks?
"Ladies Unleashed" runs at The Green Room Theatre from Monday 13th to Saturday 18th May 2024. To book tickets, visit The Green Room Theatre. Each performance starts at 7:45pm with a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday 18th May.
Director Victor Hassan said: "In parallel the lives of two Victorian herring packers connect with the action highlighting the progress in women's lives over the last century or so. But how much has really changed? There are lots of laughter in this story about friendship, growing older and living for today, and a terrific cast of Green Room regulars bring this unusual magical play to life."
The show is suitable for anyone aged 12 and over.
Tickets cost £10 for members and £12 full price. To book tickets visit The Green Room Theatre website or telephone the box office answerphone on 01625 540933. The Saturday Box Office will be open from 11am to 12 noon on 27th April and 4th and 11th May.
