Following a three-year interval, Cinema on the Carrs returns in less than three weeks' time - on Saturday 16th July.

The films to be shown on the big screen - as chosen by Wilmslow residents - will be Encanto (Singalong) and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Wilmslow Town Council first introduced Cinema on the Carrs in 2015 when Mamma Mia proved hugely popular.

Wilmslow Town Council fund and organise this community summer event, which is free to attend and allows friends, family and neighbours to gather and enjoy food, drink and films together in the beautiful surroundings of the Carrs Park.

This year's event will start at noon, with children's entertainment and a food and drink court. Encanto - a 2021 computer-animated Disney musical will be on the big screen at 2pm. The food and drink court will remain open in the evening and Bohemian Rhapsody - a 2018 biographical musical about the life of Freddie Mercury – will be shown at 7.30pm.

Wilmslow Town Council Chairman, Frank McCarthy, said, "We are delighted to welcome Cinema on The Carrs back after a 3-year break due to Covid. The event is always hugely supported, bringing friends, family and the community together. We received very positive feedback about our recent Jubilee events, so it is wonderful to be able to bring people together once again for another free community event. Please add the date to your diaries, locate your picnic mats and we will see you on 16th July!"
