Emergency services were called a collision involving a silver Volkswagen Golf, a grey Volkswagen Polo and a black Range Rover Sport on Altrincham Road at 2.30pm on Saturday, 28th May.
There were several casualties.
Most occupants were able to remove themselves from their vehicles. However, two people who were medically trapped in one car required assistance from fire crews, who used cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle to help with the extrication process.
Two women, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The road was blocked for a short time while recovery took place.
