Signs stolen from Wilmslow station

The gateway signage welcoming people to Wilmslow has been stolen from the entrance to the station forecourt.

The signage formed part of a refurbishment of the railway approach undertaken by Wilmslow Town Council in 2017 to improve the visual appeal of the area and to recognise the importance of the railway in welcoming people.

The two signs, which were located on either side of the fence, went missing between Wednesday 2nd and Sunday 6th December with CCTV currently being checked to establish a more accurate time of disappearance and if any visual evidence exists.

If you have any information regarding the disappearance or know the whereabouts of the signage then please contact the police by telephoning 101 and quoting incident number IML868974.

O, good grief, Wilmslow - pull yer finger out! Get some CCTV up on every street corner -- ignore the screams from the ive got my privacy rights brigade -- and catch it. You'll recognise it straight away..the sticky fingered loser who's into vulnerable families' Christmas selection boxes.
(Actually, thinking about it in the cold light of day, that could describe quite a few lowlifes....)
