Gorsey already has its own eCadets, groups of pupils who are run eSafety and social media awareness sessions for younger pupils, and alongside their extra sessions there will also be a special workshop for parents addressing their concerns about keeping youngsters safe online. Year 3 pupils even devised their own 'play in a day' on the subject of eSafety and performed it for parents.

Classes are talking by Skype to professionals around the world as part of Microsoft's Skype Classroom programme. Year 5 spoke to a Canadian Space Agency Educator about potential future manned missions and colonisation of Mars, and Year 6 a filmmaker about Amazon tribes, biodiversity and conservation.

The week is being supported by local parents who work in the tech industry and who are volunteering their time to come into school to talk to the pupils.

This week is also Children's Mental Health Week and the school's Pastoral Manager is organising special sessions for pupils concentrating on raising awareness of this important subject.
