A Wilmslow primary school is building on its recent excellent results and is looking to expand its dedicated team of support staff.
Gorsey Bank Primary on Altrincham Road has a reputation for hard work and success. The 420-pupil school is in the top 4% of schools nationally and is one of the top five schools in the whole of Cheshire East for its most recent set of results.
It's also a school community where 'Learning for Life' permeates everything.
"Our pupils are our most important consideration and we want school to be an enjoyable and exciting experience for them," explains Head of School Joe Maguire.
This week for instance, the school is putting the focus on all things interactive with a dedicated Computing Week. Coinciding with Safer Internet Day, the school has lots of exciting activities going on.
Gorsey already has its own eCadets, groups of pupils who are run eSafety and social media awareness sessions for younger pupils, and alongside their extra sessions there will also be a special workshop for parents addressing their concerns about keeping youngsters safe online. Year 3 pupils even devised their own 'play in a day' on the subject of eSafety and performed it for parents.
Classes are talking by Skype to professionals around the world as part of Microsoft's Skype Classroom programme. Year 5 spoke to a Canadian Space Agency Educator about potential future manned missions and colonisation of Mars, and Year 6 a filmmaker about Amazon tribes, biodiversity and conservation.
The week is being supported by local parents who work in the tech industry and who are volunteering their time to come into school to talk to the pupils.
This week is also Children's Mental Health Week and the school's Pastoral Manager is organising special sessions for pupils concentrating on raising awareness of this important subject.
If you would like to work with young people in a fantastic school environment the good news is that there are opportunities opening up to join Gorsey Bank at a really exciting time.
The school – the lead primary school for the expanding Laurus Trust which runs Ofsted-outstanding Cheadle Hulme High School as well as schools in Stockport and Tameside and outstanding teacher training arm the Altius Alliance - is currently recruiting for a part-time Kids' Club Manager and also a Special Educational Needs Classroom Assistant, with more opportunities opening up soon.

We highly value each and every employee and we are as proud of our focus on professional support and development as we are of our reputation," says Head Joe Maguire.
