Sixth form students at Wilmslow High School are celebrating another set of impressive A level results today, 50% of which were A* to B grades.
Overall 26% of the results were graded A* and A and 9% were A*. In total 39 students achieved the equivalent of 3 A grades or above in their A levels or BTECs and 18% of A level students achieved AAB or higher.
Headteacher, Dr James Pullé said "Today we celebrate with the class of 2018 as they collect their excellent A-Level and BTEC results. Such high standards of performance are the result of the sustained hard work and commitment of every individual involved, so this is the occasion for all to enjoy the moment and cherish what their efforts have achieved.
"Collectively these result also affirm the comment made by Ofsted in April that sixth form students at Wilmslow High School make strong progress on courses, which include a wide range of A-Level and vocational subjects and that outcomes for sixth form students are a strength of the school.'
He added "Of course, examination results only form part of the outcomes from a good education and this cohort have participated extensively in our Wider Curriculum throughout their time at the school. As a result, we are confident that they have, in the words of CBI president Paul Drechsler "not just what they need to operate in today's workplace, but the spirit of enquiry that allows them to shape tomorrow's, too."
"We know they will go on to achieve much more at university, on high quality apprenticeship programmes, and in their careers and we wish them well in the exciting challenges and opportunities that life will bring. I am sure they will join me in expressing thanks for the continuing support of their parents and the hard work and commitment provided by school staff over their years of secondary education."
