The annual Cinema on the Carrs event will take place this Saturday, 9th June and with dry weather expected organisers are hoping it will attract record numbers.

The afternoon event has been specifically tailored to a young family audience, so in addition to a showing of Disney's 'Toy Story' on the big screen at 2pm there will feature bouncy castles, trampolines, face painting, a magician, and art and craft activity stalls.

At the end of the film, a duck race organised by Dean Row Guides will also take place at around 3.45pm during which the arena will be cleared.

The arena will then open for the evening event at 6pm when the Take That 'Circus Tour' recorded live from Wembley Stadium will be shown on the big screen followed by the main feature of the day 'The Greatest Showman' at 8pm.

Entrance to Cinema on the Carrs, which is organised and funded by Wilmslow Town Council, is free.

Residents are requested to walk to the site if at all possible or to make use of the town centre car parks, which are free to use after 6pm, as parking at the Carrs will be very limited and on street parking is being discouraged. Only event vehicles and blue badge holders by arrangement will be able to access the site.

Exit from the site will be in the semi-dark and although there will be floodlighting in high footfall areas those attending are requested to pack a torch along with their picnic blankets and chairs.

Cllr Angela McPake, Chairman of the Town Council Events Group said "Following the disappointment of the poor weather for the event in 2017 we are delighted by the tremendous interest shown in the Town Council's principle community event during the build up to Saturday. We are expecting that the event will attract record numbers both during the day and in the evening and hope that it provides an opportunity for family members of all ages to get together with neighbours and friends and to have a terrific time in the fabulous settling of the Carrs Park."

As in previous years the cinema food court will offer hot and cold food and drink from noon when the event starts through until 9.30pm. The event will end at the conclusion of the film at around 9.45pm.
